Comrades, the recent manufactured drama has once more sparked manufactured outrage and manufactured justification for griefing. Now for some review of the three powers in the ( ,-) region:
New Leningrad: The regime, under the control of a One-Party system, has a civilian administrator running every day affairs through the will of the people. The People's Party consolidates civilian efficiency by aiming towards persistent development of both urban and industrial sector. Gaining control of the People's Party requires long term loyalty to the people along with a history of bureaucratic efficiency. In many ways, the given system of New Leningrad promotes civilian leadership rather than military leadership. Therefore, the incentive for maintaining power isn't through force rather, it's through persistent work under the guidance of the People's Party. Loyalty and trust can only be achieved through factory work and construction projects. Those who propagate the small size of New Leningrad's population always leave out the fact that despite a small population, New Leningrad has one of the most efficient workforces in the Civcraft World. So efficient that Orion nearly lost its bidding for the Summer Olympics!
Byrn: The city is run under a Military Junta in which the strongman runs everyday affairs. They've had a past of purging formal civilian members of the regime only to leave the military men in control. As such, they rule through the virtues of war. However, much of their focus has been on hunting griefers and if they cannot find such a challenge, they look for nearby neighbors. This society lacks any social complexities due to the lack of an organized industrial proletariat along with total military control of any production.
Aurora: This one has some layers of complexities but regardless, Aurora is in fact a regime run by the military or rather, by armed gangs. Most prolific amongst these armed gangs are the Red Hats. They more or less control policy within this anarchist city, deprived of any centralized authority. Therefore, people look to political gangs, led once more by strongmen wielding the diamond sword. The Red Hats, under the control of Farley, use their power to manipulate political, commercial, and social affairs within the city. They're also known for their effective usage of propaganda tools by identifying a common enemy to engage. Like Byrn, The Red Hats continue to be fueled by war and therefore, always attempt to identify a common threat for the poor urban masses to latch onto.
In conclusion, New Leningrad is effectively the only civilian regime in the region hence, the most democratic within the ( ,-) region.
