Okay, so we have a decent size kitty at the moment, but now that we're paying for hosting we should start looking at a few ways to raise funds on the long term.

One thing that seems to be unanimous is people do not want any sort of pay-to-win features such as free items for donating. Let's have a discussion on what the server could offer as an incentive without detracting from the civcraft experience.

The few that spring to my mind and have been mentioned before are:

  • A set number of reserve slots, which donating would be allow you to use when the server is approaching full capacity.

  • Coloured names or other ways to identify you in game as a donator. (Could we do capes server-side?).

  • The ability to name an item in-game for a small, one-time fee.
