As the city of Columbia begins to come back to life, I am offering a bit of legal and practical advise to those are operating in Columbia. First, if you do not own something, then assume it owned. Second, if something looks unowned, then ask who owns it by making a post on the subreddit before modifying or otherwise using the property. Third, even if nobody responds to your post, that does not mean that nobody owns it. Fourth, if you do start modifying or using something that looks like it could be owned, then expect to eventually have to deal with a lawsuit in the future.
If legal troubles are not in your blood, then avoid modifying or using any property that you do not know is yours. Even if there is no sign or a sign that says the property is abandoned by the owner, don't touch it, unless you are willing to take on the risk, no matter how small, that you may be sued.
Again, this is advise; you are naturally free to disregard my words, though I reserve the right to laugh at you if you suffer negative consequences as a result of doing so.
