It's that time again. Please post your candidacy in this thread, as well as your platform if you so wish. Please note that candidacy must be publicly declared here if you wish to run. Below is all charter and council law information relating to elections.
Charter Content Relating to Elections:
Councillors will be elected to a term of 2 months by a popular vote. Citizens may pick up to 3 candidates to cast their ballots for, and the candidates with the 3 highest vote totals will comprise the council for that term.
The council shall be composed of 3 members minimum, with additional seats added for every 6 citizens beyond 12. Councillors may resign at any time, for any reason, so long as they appoint a deputy to fill in for them if needed before an official replacement is elected. An interim election should be held within one week of a resignation to choose an official replacement.
Council Law Relating to Elections:
Council 8.1 Amend the charter to state that council seats are allocated based on the number of voters as defined by the number of players who voted in the election rather than active citizens as is currently stated.
Council 9.1 Amend the Charter to allow the Council, with a unanimous vote and approval from the Alcuahtl, to appoint a replacement Councillor in lieu of holding a by-election.
Council 10.1 During a Council election, no vote counts will be announced until the end of the voting period.
Council 10.2 Citizens choosing to run for Councillor must announce candidacy on the Yoahtl subreddit.
