The treaty had been broken. The gauntlet had been thrown. The powers of the world jockeyed for supporters as the world teetered towards war. In Summer of 907, a conference was hastily scrambled together for a last minute bid for peace.
On one side, Salvadare. It watched as the Nexus had endured a revolution. It watched as they ousted a government that sold out to the invaders. It answered when Nexus called for help, and seemed near about to limp from one losing war into another. But more importantly, could it let Glimmer run amok, unchecked as it gained power across the world?
On the other, Glimmer. It'd been insulted. Lied to. Betrayed. Denied the right to a treaty they had signed. Did this not warrant a reprimand, a sanction, a blockade, even war? Could they allow such a small nation to defy them unscathed? Could they allow Salvadare to declare on a world stage that any country Salvadare weasels its way into is permitted to break even the most sacred of international rule?
A Nexan Civil War now threatened to engulf the world. Perhaps a discourse in Wodenburg could save it. Perhaps the Talks in Kesselwald could prevent blood from being shed.
Perhaps.
