I am a Viceroy, Viceroy Bast. The Corona Colony is my charge. I have been sentenced to corralling a Frontier at the edge of the world.

The Sovereign Diet sponsored several colonies after winning the Nexan War. But colonies need Viceroys and Gildemeisters. So, I was made Viceroy, and my good friend Jules Bosserbelt was made Gildemeister.

I say that Julian Bosserbelt is my friend. What I really mean is he’s a jackass who does no work and leave it all for me.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to corral an entire colony of people? Even after those all trickle from the Albedo Colony (really a glorified trader station – it’s where any good worth anything has to go through to get back to Glimmer Actual) and split up to Starburst and to us, Glimmer’s a packed place, and we get boatload after boatload of person. The fact that the Diet handed out charters to various companies (no doubt that jackass Limoen’s doing), and now the companies are picking up any yokel off the street to do blue-collar work around here probably isn’t fucking helping! And then, worse of all, every last peasant asshole one of them decide they’d rather be anywhere but Corona.

Can’t imagine why. It’s like every other meal consists of some kind of potato. I hate potatoes.

But it’s as if as soon as they get off at Wildersburg, they need to go somewhere else beyond the plot of land their company gave them to. Some of them have been pushing into Fueblo (though corn is rather nice). Some of them have been encroaching on Ujiteru and Al-ddawr-I-don’t-fucking-know. Some of them have even been sneaking into Laaltit. Why? Who the hell knows! It’s a frozen piece of shit you can’t farm!

And I can’t keep them in check: the companies always want more, more, more! Just like up in Starburst. They see Avereche, and they want it. They’ve been eking in on it for ten god damn years! Viceroy Renaldo and Gildemeister Dubois can’t do anything about it up there, and I certainly can’t do anything down here!

It’s the same exact story! There’s nothing I can do to stop the migrants from pushing into wherever the hell they want: the companies like it, and they’re strongarming me. And I’m too damn overworked with just the viceroyalty than to do Jules’s job while he’s scarfing down lobster!

I don’t know what I’m going to do the day that Laaltit or Fueblo or Ujitero or that other weird-spelled fucker decides to open war on us. Glimmer Actual sure as hell isn’t helping us. And I can’t do anything. I can barely

I envy Viceroy Onderburgher sometimes. Up in Albedo, he doesn’t have to do anything.

[M]: People are overworked because slackers ruin everything. The colonies of the Albedo Viceroyalty (Ruaumoko), and the Corona Viceroyalty (former Wampa) are established to be established. Some up-and-coming colony cities of Wildersburg and Einsam Mountain are being established right here. Glimmerites are being very belligerent towards their immediate neighbors.

OH YEAH, this is like the 920's or something.
