Ek'muwan meets with the leadership of the Land of Eternal Darkness
Post Body

EK'muwan's face was one of composure, but inside he was experiencing stress the likes of which he hadn't for a long time. Since his rule began, this would be the first time he had publicly greeted the new rulers of another people. Only other rules such as the ones he would soon meet could measure up to him in power or influence.

And in the case of the impending meeting with men from 'The Land of Eternal Darkness,' as the Tzikkak'ab Lands now called themselves, these men might hold more power over him than even they knew. The Tetk'in needed the Tzikkak'ab, a fact few of them even recognized--much less accepted--but the need was there nonetheless. Ek'muwan could only hope that this new Land of Eternal Darkness did not recognize the power they held, so that he could remain in command of the situation.

Rather than his normal throne room, Ek'muwan was seated in a conference room, where a large hewn stone table--with a surface so smooth it almost reflected light--filled the space. More comfortable wooden chairs surrounded the largely ornamental table, and dark purple tapestries adorned the walls everywhere that large vertical windows didn't occupy. This room had been built in anticipation of diplomatic discourse, but none had envisioned it being used to speak to the leaders of the Tzikkak'ab. Ek'muwan knew nothing about these men, but waiting to start talks would not change their nature. Ek'muwan motioned to two servants, indicating to them that the leaders of the Land of Eternal Darkness, and his own personal advisors should be sent in.
