Ek'muwan (Star Sparrowhawk), Ajaw of Tz'amtanak'al and leader of the Tetk'in, slowly closed his eyes within his personal meditation chamber. It was the break of dawn, and he was set to begin a communion with his Wayis. In all of Tetk'in history, none had been closer to their Wayis than Ek'muwan. Many of the most learned men in Tz'amtanak'al believed this to be the reason he had been the one to finally unite the Tetk'in.
Ek'muwan's Wayis (spirit companion) was Chij Tz'unun, a small Rufous hummingbird with a similarly scaled rack of antlers on its head. These chimeric Wayis, which did not exist in the world as most know it, were the most venerated kind, considered to be almost godlike in nature.
Chij Tz'unun always spoke with Ek'muwan. Sometimes in words, sometimes in thoughts, and sometimes in mere impressions; but the meaning was always clear. This time, Chij Tz'unun had spoken very clearly. "This is the beginning of an important time, Atan Ek'muwan." (In this case, Atan means partner, which is what a Human is to a Wayis). Ek'muwan was confused, for there was no significance on the calendar this cycle, which was 1.0.0.1.15. "I feel your confusion, but you must believe me. Throughout the world, change is happening. Now is the time you must truly sieze your people, and lead them to the future. Reclaim the Chik'in Ak'al, and reach for K'in."
Before Ek'muwan could reply, the world in which he spoke to Chij Tz'unun began to fade. He opened his eyes. Though mere minutes had passed with his Wayis, the sun was setting over the city of Tz'unun. Filled with determination, Ek'muwan stood and left the room, ready to create a future for the Tetk'in.
Sorry for the rush job, but I had to get this out in-between claim resolutions. Spelling and grammar errors are probably in this mess.
