Just finished a diety science victory and realized a pretty devious strategy that could also prob work in multiplayer but who knows.
Terrestrial Laser stations increase exoplanet speed by 1 turn per turn, and can be built an infinite number of times in cities with a spaceport. All of your spaceport cities SHOULD also have an industrial zone. Let's say they are all powered adequately and you have a neutral or positive power resource (coal, oil, uranium, etc.)
Each station adds 5 power usage per turn. Theoretically you can build several of them over the course of a few turns (in this case I built 3 in 5-6 turns), then tank the power hit because you should have stockpiled resources at this point. Here comes the fun part. The city project for industrial zones gives full power every turn while active. Now you have basically overclocked your power usage by a lot and you are basically getting all of those sweet sweet science victory points for free.
Not sure if this was a widely known strat but it worked really well for me. Only caveat could be not having enough production to build enough before your stockpile runs out, but honestly it should be fine.
Thoughts?
