Hey! I’m a fairly new player (“only” 150 hours in). My first CIV game was Revolution on the Xbox 360, so I’m really enjoying the added layers of CIV 6 so far.
I really only play on Prince difficulty so far, so I’m not, you know, GOOD at the game. But I always tend to settle my cities at least 6 hexes away from any others, because I’m worried they’ll be competing over the same resources.
Should I be building denser? The loyalty and factory power systems make me think that I’m putting my cities too far apart.
Also, while I’m here, what is “forward setting?”
Sorry for the beginner questions and thanks for anyone who has time to respond!
I never would have thought to put them that close, but yeah with district adjacency bonuses that makes sense. I’ll try to do that my next game and be more careful with where I place my districts. Thanks!

Thanks for the explanation. It does sound like im being a little too precious in making sure my cities don’t “overlap,” when I should be focusing on maximizing tiles and resources, as well as district bonuses. I’ll keep that in mine for future plays.
