Assuming Emergency Powers

As of 5:34 PM, Eastern Standard Time, both Consuls Mark_Antony and Zebra agreed to grant me emergency powers for one week. The powers were granted after discussion for a constitunional amendment came up, and it was decided that we needed one leader to cut through the red tape for a week and try to slipstream the government which hasnt read half a dozen bills sent to it. For this week, any bill I approve becomes law, I will be ordering work crews for defensive projects

Immediatley after being granted Emergency Powers, I passed the following bills into law;

• Election Guidelines Bill

• Vaults and Pearl Bill

• Dereliction Bill

• Citizenship and Census Bill

While those were approved, I vetoed my own Roman Defense Act, linked here in the Senate Agenda post.

I believe we need to draft a new Defense Bill, and I put that task to /u/Antonius_Marcus and /u/Langly-

We need a set graph or layout of our provincial, prefecture, and vassal system, I'll try working on it but asking /u/mummybundles for help.

I also passed this amendmant to the constitution, as shown below:

• The constitution shall be altered to change elections from every 2 months to every month. Elections will have a 1 week period prior where candidates may announce themselves and their platform. Debates may be organized when more than 2 candidates announce they are running. For election cycles with only 2 candidates, debates will not be held.

August Elections

With the need for elections for August, I call for an election to take place on August 7th, with inaugeration on August 9th, after my Emergency Powers have run out. Candidates may announce that they are running now, but due to my current Powers, both the Senate and Consuls are no longer required to pass legislation until the 9th of August.

Appointments

• Mummybundles has been appointed Ducis Legio

• Le_Brine has been appointed Quaestor

• Langly has been appointed Prefect of Transportation

• Bloodhound98 has been appointed Prefect of his proposed Prefecture in northern Gaul.

Amendments

The constitution is in dire need of an amendmant to restore more power to the people, be it through clearing out inactive leadership, allowing more elected positions, or through other means not yet discussed.

I ask for both the Senate and population of SPQR in general to bring up ideas, drafts, proposals, any idea you think would help fix this problem, to myself in the form of either DM's or pinging me on discord. For those not on discord, either a post here on the sub or a private message is alright as well.
