As the Princeps of SPQR, it is my duty make sure the Senate is as effective as possible, and so it is with this in mind that I make this announcement and the change to the Senate.
As of 1 AM, Eastern Time this morning, after considerable discussion with /u/Antonius_Marcus, I have decided to remove him from the Senate so that he can pursue the office of Consul with more effect and attention. Assuming at a point in the future that he no longer finds himself in the position of Consul, he is welcome to resume the office.
While I know in the Constitution it is not barred from holding both positions, and in time of crisis or low population multiple positions may need to be held by the same person. For the moment however, I wish to set a precedent that when viable candidates for offices are present, no person should hold a seat on the Senate and a position as Consul. While not binding in any means, I feel like this will help avoid corruption and potential issues down the road.
Moving on to his replacement, I am appointing /u/Le_Brine to the now vacant seat on the Senate. Having served honorably in 2.0 as a Senator, and developed a large portion of the city there, he comes with a strong history of helping to grow and improve the nation and cities he represents. I am sure that here he will continue that trend as a member of the Senate.
Gloria Romae!
