UPDATE: Olympia is currently coming up with new terms in response to this.
Strap in. It’s going to be a long one. Last week, Otonabee was attacked. Without as much as war declaration, a group of Olympians charged into Lynn and pearled a citizen, chasing and attempting to break into the president’s house. Later, they then attacked Otonabee again, pearling a large number of our citizens.
In this time, while not formally allied with any nation, we leaned heavily on our historical allies who rushed to support and help us. Vanax and I worked out terms for release and a return to normal operation after these two unjustified aggressive incursions. While peace was achieved, the nation they signed the deal with was forever changed.
Olympia proved to us in no uncertain terms, that they were capable and willing to eliminate our nation with little warning, and at the slightest motivation. And so, we formed a union with Varathia to ensure our nation’s continued safety and security.
We were happy to ensure our relative neutrality between local superpowers duking it out, until Olympian leadership council member Adderall threatened newfriend nation Alexandria with death and destruction. The Otona-Varathian empire then declared war in solidarity with its historical ally to halt the continued, reckless aggression.
After this, several Olympians messaged us, telling us that the war was because of “(Olympia) standing up against cantina/blackwater from raiding newfriend nations”, as though they’re standing up, as the server’s shining heroes, against the “evil” of these nations.
And so, what move did Olympia take to strike back against the nations they disliked so much? Strike any Cantinan bunkers, attack Cantinan cities (their true enemy), skybridge the Varathian vault for funsies (again)?
No.
Enraged by the declaration, and the minimal offensive actions Otonabee has undergone so far, Olympia attacked Lynn, the capital of Otonabee, breaking bastions, wood blocking buildings, obby bombing defensive infrastructure, obby blocking highways, raiding and stealing from a member’s bunker, killing hundreds of stamina of numerous mules, donkeys and breeding horses, raiding the bank and thanking us for funding the war for them - ALBUM.
Do not doubt the contents of their leaked strategy document from last week. They wish to bully us into excessive concessions as outlined prior by attacking our citizens and griefing our nation. Here are the terms we were given by Olympia.
While we do enjoy the possibility of Olympia owning an actual city instead of only destroying others and playing vaultcraft, I think we'd all prefer if Olympia constructed one themselves within one of the other territories they've forcefully annexed. Do not misunderstand their meaningless PR and inevitable reddit doomthreads, and judge them by their actions. Do not misunderstand this – they will surely be in the comments claiming they did a ‘nice grief’. Their actions done to Varathia and Cantina after their surrender are plain and clear enough – and Darky even chose to threaten us further only halfway into our ceasefire for talks about peace.
Remember after the hell war, the terms given to the defenders were considered harsh, and they fled and refused to surrender. The terms they accepted under blackwater were even lighter. Otonabee, as a part of the Otona-Varathian Empire and the greater Carbon Federation only wishes to make fair and reasonable peace terms, just as these were offered to them all those months ago in Hell, and Olympia continues to stonewall, raid and pillage.
I hope to receive a message with more reasonable terms soon, as part of 'good faith' negotiations involving the greater coalition.
Glory to Otona-Varathia, and Heil Patar!
tldr; Just read it. I know you suckers love drama.
