After the full-time initiation of the Ganthian army, life in Ganthia was good. The states expanded their borders to some of the eastern areas that no longer had any barbarians, thanks to the efforts of Ganthia’s soldiers. Briefly, Ganthia’s general tranquility was shattered by an outbreak of disease in Harvis, but Thomas Sormania then commissioned the construction of a granary in the city. The new and more healthful practice of storing food in an insulated place gradually abated the disease, and now the residents of Harvis had a supply of food to rely on for the upcoming winter, when few crops could be grown in Ganthia. Over the winter, Ganthian mathematicians came up with a new advance, discovering the theorems of geometry. Once the weather warmed up in the spring, Thomas had this new knowledge applied in practice by commissioning the construction of a road network stretching throughout Ganthia and all the way to the borders of Rusnav. Surely now, the caravans which regularly traded between the two nations would arrive at their destinations not only quicker, but also safer than ever before.
