[Proposal] Dissolve the role of NEA chairman/chairperson/chair
The role of chairman seems completely redundant. The role of NEA chairman is NOT an executive or legislative role. It is an administrative role. The individual holds NO power over the NEA, and NO influence over the decisions of the NEA. If anything, the position should not even be called 'chairman'. It would better be called 'speaker' or 'moderator'. Because that's what the position is.
The NEA chairman is responsible, and ONLY responsible for taking a role of leadership in the debate and discussion of this alliance.
According to our own alliance constitution:
The positions goal is merely to fulfil the organisational role to set up and lead meetings and promote the NEA to foreign states and organisations.
However, here's the problem: That leadership is the sort of leadership that EVERYONE in the NEA should already have. Leadership in discussion shouldn't limited to one individual, it should be expressed by us all. We should all be obligated to help organise meetings, bring agendas to the table, moderate our own discussion, and represent the NEA.
For this reason, I am proposing a vote by NEA member-states to abolish the role of NEA chairman (or 'chairperson' or 'chair' as the constitution refers to it).
