[Discussion] Voting Procedure

Post Body

Considering all that's happened with the past vote with Hjaltland, we should really consolidate on how voting works. Some points to consider -

  • Time limits on votes - Will a vote remain open indefinitely if not enough votes are gathered?
  • Closing votes - at what point does a vote end? After enough votes are collected to have a solid decision? 24 hours after that? or after every member has voted?
  • Voting options and outcomes - What can people vote? What does it mean to abstain as compared to not participate? How is the vote polled if people abstain/not participate?

These are just some points to start discussion going, feel free to bring up other points of concern if you can think of it. Ultimately I want to see this lead up to an amendment to the constitution to outline exactly how the voting procedure should work.
