Icenia in 2015 on Civcraft 2.0
Icenia is now 9 years old as an independent nation on Civcraft-inspired servers. Not bad for a city originally founded as a buffer between Romans and Germans, griefed into oblivion, re-founded years later in an attempt to destroy Volterra, and then re-established only to suffer through every major war on the server.
Fundamentally, the success of Icenia is not rooted in me. It's rooted in the wonderful minds around me—Enforcer15, Quanton, Lagi, Anvil, Juniortide, Gjum, Shadno, Drek, August, Dr_Bacon_Hair, Orinari, Soundtech, Smal, DroidJoe, BritishWanderer, Forged, Slushii, Xcios, Eddie, Rinvincible...all the Icarans...all the Bloomians. There are simply too many people to point out who have poured their time, effort, and energy into this nation that I actually feel terrible about listing names. When I joined Chanada in 2014 I could have never imagined creating a group this permanent and this endearing.
Icenia exists, at present, as one of the few truly active nations from Civcraft 2.0. This is a remarkable, remarkable achievement and—again—a testament to the people we have here. We've suffered, rebuilt, and grown several times over and I expect our growth to only continue as new generations of players filter through. We're also one of the few nations that has chosen defense and openness together as a path forward. Most nations choose one or the others. We remain, and shall remain, the best nation for any new player to join—not only are they protected, but they are free to climb the ranks to relevancy and wealth in any way they choose.
We remain the beacon in the -,-...and we shall remain the beacon of stability, strength, and survival in the coming years.
Jah' Bless Icenia.
