I was one of the former citizens of Cortesia Del Mar who stopped playing Civ following our collective decision to abandon the server after our defeat in the SEC-Gang Shi War last July. Following Gang Shi's destruction by the Dawn Guard Pact, I came back on Civ in mid-December to check on the capital city (located here) and clean up some grief since I figured it'd be safe enough to do so. Around the same time, some friends of mine were interested in picking civ back up again, so I invited them to join me. We started building up some basic farms and making some plans, though never got to the point of it being an actual "nation." By the end of the first week of January, however, they lost interest and it was back to just me logging on and messing around every few days. Now, I have no real interest in doing this anymore, though I might still log once a month or something just to keep the groups from decaying until someone else legitimately wants the land for something. Since I'll no longer be "maintaining" the "claim", I wanted to make some clarifications about the land going into the future:

• The community of CDM has entirely moved on to other games and other servers and has no interest in coming back in any serious capacity, though some individual members might come on very occasionally (yodabird is not one of them). This is likely the last the vast majority of you will be hearing from a former CDMer.

• The claim to former CDM land made by "T.E." on the last jmqn map is not legitimate. The person who made it was never a member of CDM, was still pearled when they made it, and in the 3 weeks since they made it has still not visited the land. Not sure if that claim was a joke that went over my head or something, but I just wanted to make that clear before anyone accidentially respects it. Sorry to Gjum for not updating the map myself, I'm a boomer who still can't use paint.net.

• CDM has been wiped clean of all valuables besides some of the basic factories I made when I was playing there again. Despite this, I've seen some respectable names from around Alenarith breaking into the factory and storage buildings in recent weeks. I'd like to ask those people to please refrain from doing so again in the future. Additionally, all of CDM's former security infrastructure (ice roads, bunkers, what have you) was disabled during the war and is under the control of some former allies.

• I'd love for CDM to remain unclaimed until newfriends, former allies, or former CDMers find a legitimate use for it. Once this happens, I'll probably stop logging on for good. Alenarith is usually chill nowadays, has good biomes, and has good global connectivity, so I'd love for newfriends to be able to make it their home. There are a lot of nations on Alenarith and on the nearby Eastern Continent that are either straight up dead or have claims that are way too big for their current populations, so I hope they scale back their claims as well to facilitate that process.
