Hello everyone!

It's been a wild few hours dealing with external and internal issues, but the Curia has come out with a few statements.

I. The Papacy's Vatican lands are now in Lambeau hands due to their interest in the nether portal in our own lands, and the removal of assets 1,000 blocks in radius around the portal. Despite multiple attempts to negotiate the access of the portal, there has been no successful compromise over the past few weeks. However, we still wish them luck for their future endeavors regarding the formerly Papal portal.

II. The Papacy hereby claims new territories for farms, residency, and commercial for ~25 newfriends, in the unclaimed lands near Reggio and Mercutio. A photo will be linked to this post for the claims. As of the previous government in those lands, a settlement has been reached between the Crusader State of Namazik and the Papacy to host the Church in their lands, as well as the expansion of the Church in unclaimed territory. Papal citizens have already been present in the area as of July 10th, 2023 AD.IIa. Some of you may have seen the Kallos claims. Those are not official anymore, and have been retracted after knowledge given by various individuals.

III. The Pope, Iulianus I (me) has died of a fatal heart attack after having to get up from his Papal Chair to leave the Vatican City. A new Pope shall be elected by the Third Papal Conclave in the following days (this week, from 7/23/23 to 7/29/23). As of today, the Papacy is in sede vacante. The College of Cardinals shall preside over ceremonious and head-of-state affairs, and the Cardinal Secretary of State, Realmichael, shall oversee the next week of affairs as a representative of the College.

In general, these times are a day of Mourning for the Papal States. I very much thank the multiple nations that have offered us refuge multiple times during the height of these events. I wish those nations luck, and I wish the best for those who reside in them. For the Papacy, may St. George be with us in these times. Good luck, and may God's Kingdom here on CivMC keep on living.

EDIT: After discussion with Thoria, the island in the south-west of our claims is retracted. They are allowing us to get the swamp north of the little island, however.
