What I write here is completely true. I am of sound mind and judgement. If you don't believe my tale then I am sorry, but for those who heed my warning. Do not mine alone!
My story begins where so many stories do, my home. It was a modest home, two stories of wood and stone. I sat on my back porch watching the river flow by as I wrote in my journal
June the 7th, 2017. I feel bored today, not much happening. Maybe I'll go fishing, maybe not...
As I rattled my brain for ideas I heard a knock at my door.
"Yes, Yes, I'll be there in one second," I said rushing down the stairs, the knocks getting louder and more rapid, "God dammit I said one second." Grabbing open the door I saw Dobby standing there, hand ready to knock once again.
"Yeah Dobby what did you want?" I asked.
"I found a diamond vein, wanna help me mine it out?" He offered.
"Yeah I guess, lemme grab my things," I welcomed him to sit while he waited on me. After rummaging through all my chests I finally was ready, we headed out and Dobby led the way to his mine.
I hadn't been mining in ages, never really cared for it. It was dark, cramped, and most of time you found nothing. Dobby's mine was pretty well lit up and already dug out a lot. We began to mine.
A hour or so passed and we had mined out a majority of the vein, our picks about to break. We had gotten a good haul and I already started to imagine how I'd spend it. Dobby was finishing up mining a spot we had missed. As he cleared the last stone it revealed another diamond, but unfortunately his pick shattered just shattered in his hands.
"Was that the last iron pick we had?" He asked, hoping for a good answer.
"Yep," I sighed wiping my forehead, "wanna me to keep going? I still got some stone picks."
"Sure, if you don't mind. I'll be back in a couple minutes," Dobby hurried for exit.
I was alone. I figured I might as well see if there were more diamonds so I began to mine in a straight line. I had gotten about 20 yards in and noticed the light had gone out from the main room. Oh nice Dobby, very funny. I thought to myself, looking for a torch to light. Shit. I was out. As I stepped towards the main room I heard something scurry, not a rat or a Dobby, something big. 5 yards from the entrance I heard the scurrying again, this time I drew my sword. Before I could reach the main room a loud rumble came from overhead. BOOM Instinctively I jumped back and was just missed by the falling rock.
Now I was alone....
Trapped...
