Upon the death of the noble and pious Cardinal Johann II of Lichtenberg, Frederick II of Blankenheim has been elected by his cathedral canons as the new Bishop of Strasbourg.

He promises to continue his predecessors campaign to promote theological learning and restore piety to the common people, and furthermore professes his complete support for the true Bishop of Rome, Pope Clement VII.

He humbly petitions His Holiness to be created a Cardinal in his predecessor's stead, so that he can advise and support the Pope in these troubled times.


The following marriages and betrothals have been announced by the Ducal Court in Nancy and the Comital Court in Vaudémont:

  • Her High-born Margaret of Vaux has married His High-born Count Peter I of Geneva.

  • Her High-born Adrianne of Vaux has married His High Well-born Marshal Benedikt Wach of Austria.

  • Her High-born Clara of Vaux has married His Well-born Administrator Joseph of the Baytear Brewing Company.

  • Her Highness Princess Teresa of Lorraine is to marry His Highness Prince Albert Frederick of Austria.

  • Her Highness Princess Vivienne of Lorraine is to marry His Highness Prince Ludwig of Bavaria.

  • Her Highness Princess Emma of Lorraine is to marry His High-born Hereditary Count Robert of Geneva.
