Tier I: Superpowers
1. Oman: Oh man, Oman! They've already eaten much of Babylon and Phoenicia, and most of Assyria, and they don't look like they're stopping anytime soon. Top place in city count, and high numbers in science and treasury size, Oman is certainly no slouch statistically. The well-oiled Omani machine seems to be completely unhindered by the recent series of political assassinations that have plagued their government, either. Will the righteous nations of the world manage to stand together against the Omani menace, or will all end up subjugated under their jackboots?
Tier II: Great Powers
2. Persia: Persia has an extraordinarily strong position, despite their lack of recent conquests. They have a large army, many cities (including most of Babylon's former core), and no real enemies. Their central position enables them their choice of targets, targets who are currently destroying each other in brutal wars of attrition. They may not be the top dog right now, but with NB in charge, don't be surprised if they end up above the rest soon enough.
3. Byzantium: Solid stats, but a unfortunate diplomatic situation. After three parts of invading Egypt, they have nothing much to show for it. And they're currently fighting a two-front war against the ruthless Omani conquerors, and the absolute madmen of Georgia. They've also lost their lead in cities, and their once astronomical lead in gold has been reduced to just a modest one. Not in the best position, but still a strong contender to win.
Tier III: Middle Powers
4. Georgia: Despite lacklustre performance in their invasion of Byzantium, they're still in a decent position. Although their stats do need some rounding out, they still have a decent army and industrial base. A very defensible industrial bse, to be exact.
5. Phoenicia: Ouch! Phoenicia's seen better days, but they're still alive and kicking. Will they be able to hold off against the Omani menace, or will they finally be reduced to a mere historical footnote? Find out next time on CHG!
6. Egypt: Since Egypt's inevitable conqueror, Byzantium, has been forced to redirect their efforts elsewhere, Egypt has been granted a temporary relieve from their certain destruction. I personally wouldn't rely on blind luck and desperately wishing for external factors to bail me out of a losing situation, but that seems to be working out well for Egypt, thus far.
Tier IV: Rump States
7. Babylon: After being defeated in the world stage, Babylon has turned to making outrageous profits by selling mercenaries, through an unintuitive, rigged bidding process. Someone should really put these scoundrels out of business, once and for all.
8. Assyria: Press F to pay respects.
Tier V: City-States
9. Trebizond: Pretty cool guys, if a bit secretive at times.
10. Jerusalem: Pretty cool guys too.
11. Kabul: I have nothing to say.
12. Brahain: Did Cossack even submit actions for more than one part?
