Harbin
Who polices the Secret Police?
Event: Comrade Chancellor, your Director of the Secret Police brings to you a man in chains, and claims that this man is a counter-revolutionary capitalist merchant, and asks for you to sign off on a death warrant for him. The imprisoned man, on the other hand, claims that he was merely donating his personal belongings to other citizens of Harbin, who in return merely donated some of their own belongings in return, and that absolutely no capitalist transactions were taking place, and that your Secret Police Director is clearly abusing his authority by arresting him.
Option 1: My loyal Secret Police Director is obviously in the right! He knows what he's doing; after all, I appointed him to the position. Off with the merchants head, and into the government coffers his the proceeds of his illegal capitalist ventures.
Option 2: My incompetent Secret Police Director is a fool for arresting such an obviously innocent man! Off with the Director's head, and a new Director must be appointed from the ranks of our top policemen.
Option 3: This whole situation seems fishy. I will go with the word of my Secret Police Director for now, but will additionally establish a Super Secret Police to keep watch of the Secret Police's activities.

Dafuq is a 'Soviet Mongolia'?
Event: Despite the obvious difference between your great people of Soviet Mongolia, and the clearly inferior people of regular Mongolia, confusion still reigns throughout the lands over which is which. How will the Soviet Mongolians further differentiate themselves from their non-Soviet cousins?
Option 1: Our Soviet-style of government, which encourages shared food and other resources, shall surely be the only thing necessary to distinguish us!
Option 2: I hear big buildings are the new thing. Let's build some oversized statues of our leaders or something to gain the international renown necessary to be known as a distinct people.
Option 3: This confusion is obviously a deliberate misinformation campaign from the non-Soviet Mongols, as a prelude to their inevitable attempt to annex us! To arms!
Korea
The protection payments are too damn high!
Event: As you're walking around, inspecting your palace, you walk into your treasury to admire your vast stacks of gold, only to realize that you don't have any! You race to find your treasurer, and he informs you that you've been paying all of your money to nearby great powers. What gives?
Option 1: We were obviously giving all of our money to these nations for a reason, so let's go quickly mine some more gold so that we'll be able to make our next payment.
Option 2: Sounds like a racket. Unfortunately, we're too weak and puny to fight back. Let's change that.
Option 3: Let's get some slaves build a giant statue of myself to distract me from the empty treasury.
Shuri
Regicide.
Event: Your king died. Rip you.
Option 1: The old king's eldest son should rightfully inherit!
Option 2: Fuck that spoiled brat. The head of Ryukyu's most profitable merchant family should buy the throne!
Option 3: Nah, let's have a military coup. Ryukyu's most brawny field commander should seize the throne!
Moscow / KGB
A new challenger appears!
Event: Director Stalin, we have heard tales from the far Southwest of a city-state known as Kucha, who have began to offer specialty services to the greater powers of the region under the banner of "Tocharian Traders". How will you react to this flagrant violation of your rightful monopoly on specialty service city-states?
Option 1: Deploy the goons! Shoot to kill!
Option 2: Out-trade them! Ruin their credibility!
Option 3: Enslave any of their traders who dare pass near your territory! That will show them!
Kucha / Tocharian Traders
eXplore. eXpand. eXploit. eXterminate.
Event: Our trading network is expanding steadily, but steady is boring. The only way to absolute market dominance is rapid expansion across all of Asia. How will you come to dominate international trade, o great Trader-in-Chief of Kucha?
Option 1: We most explore to the Northeast, and establish trade with the rumoured steppe nomads there, who our cousins of the Kazakhs, one of our most reliable trading partners.
Option 2: We must explore to the far East, towards the rumoured people of the Yellow and Yangtze rivers, and the people of the archipelago in the great ocean, who both surely have exotic wares to trade.
Option 3: We must explore to the Southeast, in search of the swamp-dwellers, who are known to practice a curious faith, and the pirates of the Southern sea, who must have vast stocks of plundered wares ready to export.
General City-State
