So, today on discord, we found out at /u/ExplosiveAtom was the Puppetmaster. His plan was to cause havoc across Europe and force Britain to lose the overseas colonies, and had plants in every government. He was going to steal Uranium, and found a new Neo-Byzantium-style Empire. In part 5, he was actually going to bomb the Olympic games.
And I have some serious problems with this.
Firstly, I really hate styles of games where you are effectively boxed into a corner. There wasn't any event about this - England or Ottomans couldn't do anything about these upcoming issues that would effectively destroys the empires. That's bull. It should have started as a choice from the events we got, if it was ever to start at all.
Secondly, if anyone does it, it should be one of the Reddit Mods. /u/ExplosiveAtom was rooted in Sweden which means that Sweden could have been free of the havoc across Europe. I'm not saying that is the case, but in Mark IV, I don't want people to just keep creating gigantic supra-national terrorist thingies that just keep overthrowing rival governments.
Thirdly, and most importantly no action points were spent. There wasn't a plot, nothing was invested, no dice were rolled. When this would have happened, there would have been no chance to fail, but in my opinion there should have been every chance of failure.
I'm glad it didn't happen in Mark 3.5 yet, but I came here because I wanted to replay a WWI scenario. I guess we didn't end up doing that, but can we please not do something like this in Mark 4? It just seems too volatile and cheaty.
