It has come to my attention that as Haven grows in both size and population that both an update and a reminder is required to remind Havenites new and old as to what Haven is and how she is governed.

1. Haven is neutral: we do not war, and we only pearl in self-defense or in cases of clear and present danger to Haven and Haven's residents.

2. Haven is a Meritocracy: this means that Haven's Board of Directors is comprised of individuals appointed by our chicken overlords on the basis of merit alone. This means that each Board member has a role to play in keeping Haven from collapsing in on itself and all must work together to foster an enjoyable and safe community for every Havenite to live in.

These two points bring me to the proposed amendment to the Charter. To help facilitate harmony in Haven I propose that from now on that every incident of pearling, for whatever reason other than End Transportation and other "friendly" instances of pearling that occur in Haven be posted to this subreddit for all Havenites to see. I also would like to see every instance of major dereliction of potentially inhabited structures to be included in this proposal as well.

In addition to all of this above I also propose that all serious actions involving the release or extended possession of pearled individuals that are within the Board of Director's possession require at least two Board member's and one non-Board member's approval before being carried out.

We are not a democracy but I can't see how a little democracy could hurt in such situations. You may vote or add your two cents if you wish but I will leave the final decision on how this may be incorporated into the Charter up to the Board.

As an aside, I apologize for my recent absence which will most likely continue as I have rediscovered this wonderful thing called a life which I am currently at war with my studies over to continue to keep it.
