I never thought I'd say this but... I think it's time to seal the portal. The current state of Civcraft is one of sheer chaos that Haven just cannot handle. Our allies have been pearled or are no longer returning our calls. Unfriendly Griefers and HCF folks roam the world and there's little we can do to protect ourselves so for now I am proposing we seal the Haven portal until a time that our safety can be assured.

We will still accept overworld travelers and refugees as we always have but the Nether is just not a safe thing for Haven to be connected to right now.

Yags, monkeyguts, and I have already taken the first steps to sealing Haven off by cutting off our city from the Nether Highway.

I propose this final step of sealing the portal for good to the good citizens of Haven for your deliberation. Included in this deliberation should be also the best manner as to how we should seal the portal.

I for one think DRO/IRO and not a full breaking of the portal itself but this is what this post is for to discuss the matter with all of Haven.

Edit: Also, as we shut ourselves off from the Nether we need to open ourselves more to the End. We need to develop an End supply line to those wrongfully pearled and in need who are still sticking around in the End. That is where our focus should shift.
