It was brought up that votes can be talked about in mumble, however, to be official, they should henceforth be voted on via Reddit. The charter says
Votes can be held in a meeting(mumble or in game). Where said vote and results will be posted on /r/civGNA
It is suggested to amend this to say
"Votes can be discussed in a meeting (mumble or in game), however the official vote must be held on /r/civGNA ."
The reasoning is that, even in emergency situations, it isn't difficult to just open Reddit and make a hasty post about the issue. IT also ensures better participation from members who may miss a meeting or be 1 hour late (Seldomshock).
Thoughts on this?
A vote on the matter will be posted in 48 hours.
EDIT: The new proposed amendment to the GNA charter is as follows:
Remove
Votes can be held in a meeting(mumble or in game). Where said vote and results will be posted on /r/civGNA
Add
Voting in mumble can be done for urgent matters. After a mumble vote, a voting thread will be put up in /r/civGNA and will be voted on a second time. If the mumble motion passes, then actions may be carried out in order to execute that motion. From here two things can happen: The subreddit vote will either pass or fail. If it passes, then the motion from mumble will continue to be executed accordingly. If it does not pass, then the execution of the mumble motion will halt.
"Urgent matters" will be defined as a situation where either:
A. Armed conflict is possible or on-going and the potential exists to escalate, with a negative impact on some or all of the GNA, should a decision not be made as soon as possible.
or
B. An opportunity arises to the benefit of the GNA which could be missed if swift action is not taken
