About 2 days ago, NotNotJohn reported 30 diamonds, a set of diamond armor, and 1 cobweb missing from his chest in his house. He joined fairly recently and didn't know how to reinforce stuff. Gregy gave him a silk touch pick to go mining, pointed him to a diamond vein, and explained how the ore factory works, so he accumulated a starting supply of diamonds based on that. We have been building a vault so he probably picked up the cobweb from a storage chest. The pick was returned prior to this incident.
I went to the house to investigate and luckily there was a snitch on the road outside of the house, which picked up Gutentog (Nova) entering the chest in question.
That, coupled with the testimony, is the extent that civcraft allows for evidence. Given these restrictions, we feel the evidence we do have is sufficient to warrant an arrest and trial. Gutentog was accordingly pearled and is waiting for trial (tonight) where we'll decide how to proceed.
Mir has an alliance with Kaiserin and, in my opinion, is blowing this out of proportion by threatening war for the pearling of Nova's alt under suspicion of theft, claiming the evidence isn't strong enough. Well, I wish I could have recorded the inventories of the chest and nova's inventory simultaneously as this happened, but that's unrealistic. There isn't anything additional in terms of "hard evidence" that can be supplied. We know she was in the house and opened the chest which was stolen from. We know that prior to her visit, the items were there and that afterwards they were not. This is why she's being held for trial, and why I ask for support from the GNA should Mir actually follow through with their threats.
