Introduction

Hello everyone! As we approach the First Light release date announcement a lot of work has been done implementing the final touches to make every piece work with every other piece. This isn’t usually the best for dev posts as it often covers things we’ve already discussed, however we figure why not just throw the list of what we’ve been working on this week all in a post so you all have something to look at while you wait. So, with that in mind, here is dev post 14!

What We’ve Been Up To

A recipe for Soulsteel ingots has been added. They are crafted in the Delirium Refinery using delirium, iron, glowstone, and quartz. This is the armor set that was known as “mithril” throughout development.

/u/sharpcastle33 spent most of his time this week on implementing custom properties for both the Crimson Steel and Soulsteel armor types, but found it considerably easier to simply implement as a set bonus. Cromson Steel armor now has a set bonus of 1 damage reduction, and Soulsteel has a set bonus of 20% increased arrow damage and velocity.

In addition, here are the current durability values We’re looking to use.

  • Vanilla Diamond: 1562
  • Crimson Steel weapons and tools: 2541
  • Crimson Steel armor set:
    • Helm 589
    • Chestplate 1134
    • Leggings 952
    • Boots 731
  • Soulsteel armor set
    • Helm 439
    • Chestplate 742
    • Leggings 631
    • Boots 585

The Crimson Steel sword also has 1 damage compared to a regular diamond sword. Soulsteel cannot be used to craft tools or weapons.

We’ve also been working on the repair system. You’ll be able to right click a vanilla anvil and open a new repair GUI, which will allow you to use resources, xp, and Tinker’s Talc to repair your enchanted items. I have two parts left to work on, the repair cost algorithm and the function that actually repairs the item when you use your resources.

Lastly, CustomDurability has been merged into CivEnchant.

Outro

We’ve managed to cross a lot of items off of our to-do list. A lot of easily foreseen bugs have been patched, like being able to craft vanilla items with reinforcement materials, or having your items deleted in the repair GUI when you close it. We’ve also finished the RealisticBiomes tables.

The Alchemy-MythicMobs setup is the last major hill to climb before we’re ready to announce a release date. Expect it sometime this month.
