Ordoliberalism
Capitalism is the natural mode of free economic interaction between free individuals. But any liberty that rejects natural law is nothing but a tyranny of the strong; similarly, a free market without governance is no more than a tyranny of the oligarchs. Ordoliberalism views well-governed capitalism as the path to national prosperity, and rejects "laissez faire".
Republicanism
Democracy has been called "two wolves and a sheep, voting on what to have for dinner." Our state should not be based on the rule of unrestrained democracy. Rather, it should derive its authority from the social contract that each citizen has agreed to uphold.
ORPA's stance on citizenship:
Citizenship must be based on agreement and adherence to the common social contract. Violating a contract is an act without honor: those who break our social contract do not deserve the benefits of membership in our society. Evidence of dishonorable character should be sufficient grounds to deny citizenship to an individual. But Aytos citizenship should be open to all residents willing to subject themselves to our common body of laws.
ORPA's stance on plots:
Land in Aytos must be easy to buy at a market-determined price. For this to happen, the state must proactively fight against both market stagnation and the formation of monopolies or cartels.
ORPA's stance on jobs and public infrastructure:
The government must provide common infrastructure to aid and encourage economic activity. Infrastructure projects must be evaluated and approved based on equal access to benefits, and sound cost-benefit analysis.
The ORPA supports the re-issuance of Aytos 1/10 D notes as an essential economic infrastructure, and wishes to consider additional public farm projects to take the place of the city's flailing wheat industry.
