Hello fellow Aytians, I am starting this new series about the history of Aytos and how it came to be. (you can read it in http://bit.ly/16JNRFR )
As is in the case for many of you guys here, I'm a newplayer, I was accidentally spawned into near the city after dying for countless times due to spawning in the wilderness, and then was invited to town by Impossibear. I was planning to look over the other towns to see which I'll fit in, and with only information from the wiki, I was heading towards the Commonwealth at that time. But after Rykleos/Impossibear convinced me to stay, I started to look upon the history of what I now call my one and only home in CivCraft, to get the general feel on what the city is and where it is heading.
And there started a journey of literature seeking that have strengthened my conviction that I have made the right choice. So, without further ado, I shall commence to publish my findings:
In a land before time, before ttk2 the god of CivCraft fought a bleedy battle with Herobrine, there existed a world, where the Nether and the world was separate. In this world, many civilizations came and died, great stories and legends are written about them, bards still sing praises to their heros and characters, and in this world, several fellows whose name you still see roaming about in Aytos' streets, founded a city by the name of Tigerstaden.
Tigerstaden lived and prosper, and fell and revived, and finally purged as all the cities were in the olden world of prehistory, as the battle between gods commenced, the Nether collapsed upon the world, punishing all the landscapes and turned it into something unrecognizable. ttk2 through his powers saved all the individuals and freed them to repopulate the world, and thus the story of how Aytos ws found began.
Several members of the old Tigerstaden scattered upon this new world, exploiting the new riches of all four quadrants, and one time, they are rekindled with the memories of their former home. Disillusioned by their new homes, the old fellows gathered once again, reasoning to build upon a new town in the spirit of the old. And thus an island was chosen to be built into the city, and Aytos was chosen as what people will call it.
Dispatched they did, turning barren lands into a field of gold, to convert a wild land into a very human abode of a new country, and there they began, with block by block, diamond by diamond, hours turn into days, and days to months, and an urban area sprawled up on what was a natural landscape, housing many people of many walks of life. And that was the story of how it all began.
Well at least this is how I interpret the stories that you can find in this subreddit and /r/CivAytos and /r/Tigerstaden, you may dig up old threads from those subreddit to find the same stories I did.
This will be the end of the first installment, next I'll tell the story of how the shape of the city was decided (SPOILER: We were almost two Hexagons!)
