Commonwealth Survey Results
Post Body

Like I said on the survey itself, names have been removed from the results. A few players haven't taken the survey, but thats fine. They will have a chance next time something like this happens.

Respondants: 14

Commonwealth Residents: 11

Players Whose Data was not Considered due to Selecting 'Other' as their Home: 3

Residents by Borough: This should not be considered a census of Commonwealth's population!

  1. Isenburg (5, including a player that didn't complete half the survey)

  2. Verdant Valley and Kokopolis (2)

  3. Concord (1)

  4. Queensport (1)

  5. Fowl Farms (1)

Happiness with Commonwealth's Government, on a scale from 1-5:

1.

2.

  1. (1)

  2. (7)

  3. (3)

Why did they choose what they did?

  • Im satisfied as we now have much more involved people in our government.

  • Because with the election system back, there is a new spark of activity and more people are using the reddit. There is more critical thinking among the Commonwealth as a whole instead of one or two people.

  • It works well enough.

  • It works, no real internal discord. maybe ask a more direct question?

  • I run it?

  • Things get done. We have a great way of running things.

  • I feel the communication level is greeeat.

  • Seems good enough for me, i guess. If it works, I like it.

  • Because they don't get in my way.

  • I rarely see another human in the whole CW, I have no idea how it is run.

  • Keeps things working pretty well, except every so often when someone turns out to be a collaborator le sad fayce.

Is there anything you'd like to be changed in Commonwealth? This may include the way we treat newfriends, or the number of votes required for a resolution to pass.

  • Group events - fun stuff - would be cool. We don't do much as a community.
  • I would like it if the Commonwealth could be more multilingual with some of it's signs, and while I do support the electoral system ingame, I would like to see Anarchomaniac exercise a bit more influence, maybe a voluntary donation system to the government? I also feel very hesitant to donate to the factory hoppers or other hoppers, because I'm unsure if they are checked very often, it would be nice having some reassurance on that. I also think everyone should feel free to help and inform newfriends, because ministers can't always be there for all of them.

  • Nah shits dope.

  • Maybe more expansion? I know Stonefield has huge claims now that could be filled with houses and farms now. Lots of room for houses there. As a newfriend, I was treated awesomely, so that's why I stayed! Voting in the Parliament seems good too.

  • Id like there to be more people online, and more people on our mumble and in game chat. It seems like nobody is ever online or in our channel. I look at other cities and there are at least four people online chatting most of the time, compared to Commonwealth where there isn't anyone.

  • More Aussies.

  • All is well.

What kinds of things would you like to see built in Commonwealth?

  • I would like to see all of the factories repaired and a wood cauldron with some of the other planned factories added.

  • A better road to Nendoshima, and a road or two around the large frozen waste to the north east of CW proper.

  • Maybe a subway system.

  • Luxurious, awesome buildings and gardens. Lots of them.

  • I like it, but maybe add a District Subway system that connects all the districts in one line?

  • Rails between boroughs would be nice.

  • A bigger vault.

What are your Core Values/Principals?

    1. Letting people do what they want as long as it doesn't interfere with anyone else. 2. common-group security.
  • Glorious Communism.

  • People should be able to do what they wish with their own property, unless they no longer use that property, like in game when players go inactive.

  • Respect individuals' properties. Zero tolerance for griefers/thieves/raiders/etc. Respect our sovereignty.

  • I like pie.

  • Ingame, I heavily support property rights, though I also think small buildings that are without a doubt have been abandoned for over 6 months should be taken down to give room to new buildings and players. I really dislike grid-like road systems and plots and that players that have been pearled for minor crimes in the Commonwealth should be able to be reviewed if they can eventually be released. My most important core value is that I really do feel CW should not take any bullshit from any other nations, towns, or groups. We should not allow ourselves to be intimidated or forced into a choice our citizens do not agree with, we need a strong backbone in our government if we are ever to survive.

  • Minarchist / libertarian. I believe in strong property rights and the Non Aggression Principle.

  • I like the old pearling rule that we had. It seemed to work well enough. Can't think of anything else right now. A value of mine is any mineral I can find in the earth, everything is valuable to me.

  • Keeping the server free of griefers and scumbags.

  • Don't know. I like sight seeing. Due to my Timezone I am basically playing single player.

  • I just like to do what I think is fun, while trying to do what I think is right. I would likely become a leader if I had to, but I do not like to get into politics.

Would you like to be taxed? Why?

  • Depends how taxes would be done. If they aren't executed properly then the whole systems get fak'd.

  • Don't mind.

  • No, we have enough diamonds to not tax our people.

  • No.

  • No, what would they go to?

  • I would actually, but on a voluntary basis, compulsory taxes are not really enforceable and leads to all kinds of difficulties regarding morals and theft.

  • NO. I simply can't afford it, and would quickly become a mad Wizard nibbling his staff and drooling everywhere.

  • No. I prefer paying for things like a plot up front.

  • No. I am poor.

  • No, theft.

  • Its impossible.

Should Commonwealth have a Regular Census?

Yes (9)

Unsure (1)

Should there be More Surveys like this?

Yes (7)

Maybe (3)

Some Trends and Things I think would be Awesome:

  1. Subway system between boroughs. Theres already technically one to Queensport from Isenburg, but you have to walk around a bit.

  2. Group projects. I don't know what these would be, but I like the sound of it.

  3. More roads to places like Nendoshima and Vale, etc.

  4. More factories.

  5. Large, grand buildings and gardens. I think a bit of this has been popping up south, north, and east of Shopside, but I'm not sure about other areas.

  6. Multilingual signs. I've started this in Isenburg, with my shitty french. I think this is a pretty nice idea, and that boroughs might want to do this, unless they have too many signs to count.
