Today was a very hectic day for many people. I think that Lord_Pericorp made a beautiful post today about his opinions current affairs and I also feel that a lot has been accomplished today.

For those of you who don't know, Peter5930 is actively being pursued and was declared war against by the LADS (basically formalized World Police) and harboring him or aiding him in any way is now considered a criminal act by LADS and offenders will be prosecuted by the government of Commonwealth as an extension of this "war"

What's New

With Lord_Pericorp resigning in full dignity, I have been asked to step in as Prime Minister, and have already reached out to LADS and held discussion with them for many hours. I wish Pericorp the very best in his endeavors and I have a lot of respect for him.

You may also noticed that all iron door checkpoints have been neutralized, and this is at the urging of LADS, with many people in CW agreeing with its necessity. The doors were slowing down the people seeking justice, while helping raiders elude authorities. They may be put up again after this issue has blown over.

As scary as this whole thing is, if you are an average citizen of CW, you really have nothing to worry about as far as endangerment. The LADS is specifically targeting Peter5930 and all those who fight for him. Their lava bombing of our trees has been profusely apologized for and all those pearled unjustly were released. All in all, the situation has cooled off considerably since the LADS first assault.

So What's This About Peter?

I know that many of you who are not very involved in Civcraft politics are not aware of the reasons behind LADS attack on Peter. There are also quite a few false rumors going around about this whole ordeal. I will try to make a brief history to sum it up.

Basically, Peter has been proven to be collaborating with HCF members (such as helping them construct their vault which holds LADS members, giving or selling them combat supplies to aid Dill's crew in their fight against LADS and the rest of the server, and various other minor charges all related to collaboration with Blood and Dill Crew members) and this can not be tolerated by Commonwealth Government or any upstanding member of the Civcraft community.

As much as it pains me to say this, after all Peter has done for the CW, he has endangered the lives of everyone here and has also aided in the pearling and looting of many innocent people, directly or indirectly. Acts such as these are treasonous and should be punished harshly and swiftly. LADS fully intends on pearling Peter5930, and there is a definite chance he will have no chance of release.

With that said, and with a heavy heart as acting Prime Minister, I hereby ask Peter5930 to step down from his governmental position, and to formally dissociate himself with the CW. Any attempt to harbor Peter or give him supplies will be regarded as a criminal act, and we urge all citizens to dissasociate with him (as much as it pains us)

I still think that Peter is a great guy to play Civcraft with, and I have had a lot of fun playing with him throughout Civ 2.0. I feel honored even to know the guy, but with that said, I cannot condone his aiding of a group which aims to destroy the server, even Commonwealth.

Can we really trust LADS after all of our grievances?

I understand that many people in the CW still hold grudges against people who associate with the LADS and its hard to imagine choosing them over Peter (and as extension HCF). I feel your argument, but I urge you to see both sides of his conflict. Both sides have been holding grudges against each other for too long, and at the end of the day LADS is trying to do a good service to the server. Obviously it will take time to build trust on both sides, but I have faith that a lasting and positive agreement can be made with LADS and CW as a whole. After talking with them for upwards of 4 hours, I feel that both sides have a much better understanding of each other.

What can we expect from Commonwealth Government (Commonwealth) in the Future?

I believe that will be a lot of minor changes to how CW is run and the dynamics of the city after this situation is dealt with. I think that the current system of government is rather ineffective, and I intend to fix it by any means that people see fit. Immediately, I would like to see a formalization of our pearling process and perhaps in the form of a Police Dept and Judiciary. Ultimately, I hope to see more involvement in government affairs and a more active government.

I think it is fair to expect that Commonwealth Government, under my pressuring, will attempt to continue fostering better relations with LADS and move from this situation with a better connection between both groups. I hold trust in LADS after our talks, and firmly believe they can help us move forward from this crisis.

In Conclusion

In conclusion, I would like to thank all those in the LADS who took the time to try to solve this issue through diplomacy and not with a sword (namely NJPalms, Farley, and even Shock <3). It was very refreshing to hold actual political discussion with all of you and not just sling insults. While there are still many minor details to work out, I believe the general position and understanding has increased dramatically. I would also like to thank all the Commonwealthers who were on mumble during this time to also share their opinions and concerns during this time of relative crisis. I am so glad that we resolved this situation without the utter destruction of the Commonwealth, and I hope this can prove to be a good model for the future. With that said, I thank all of you for reading this long masterpiece.
