Hello to everyone who currently lives in the Commonwealth, both old and new. A few of the newer residents may know me, but if not, I am the leader of the Commonwealth National Party (CNP), which was the party in power after last elections.
Achievments: As of this last election period, the Nationalist party has achieved quite a bit in the way of progress. Members under the CNP (like BrakeDanceJ and myself) have set up portal farms, pig farms, cactus farms, etc. for xp production, and we have seen a very nice growth in the size and equipment of our standing army.
Throughout this time, we have let model citizens such as Noaz12 (p3nisShitstain) and Peter5930 live peacefully and prosper through their hard work and it is my intention to preserve this. After elections, the CNP promptly pressured for our Constitution, which was written very well by SailorWillis and protects all citizens rights, both new and old. Throughout it all, we have not made the political party the center of the spot light, and more just the people who contributed. The general rule in the Commonwealth has been that if you contribute to a project, you reap the rewards, which has turned out very well. I see intercity trades happen very regularly and overall, I feel our city has become closer, at least in its core members.
Throughout the giant piece of text, I mean to say that the current government in place has achieved a lot for the Commonwealth, and it wouldn't be in the place it is without it.
Goals: Throughout this next term in the Commonwealth, if in power, the party would wish that many of our cities inner workings would stay the same. I wish to see capitalism grow, and integrate our newer members into projects so that they can start to become members of this city.
Not to put down any other parties, but in my opinion, and through my experience on Civcraft, giving out free things and valuables is great in theory, but it leads to people becoming complacent about projects, and does not promote the sort of team building and closeness that I see in the core members of our city right now.
Bottom line in my experience is that if you give everyone free supplies, it is great in the short term, but it eventually leads to the people who receive these gifts now feeling as a part of a city, but more using it. The way our government has been run, in this sort of free market capitalism, has led us to be one of the most successful cities on the server. No one can deny how much Noaz and Peter both have done for this city without simply giving their wealth freely and openly to everyone who lives here.
Can I Join the CNP?
You most certainly can. Feel free to message me privately in-game or on the reddit, or post under this thread. If you want to see the Commonwealth stay on its same path, vote for us in the next elections!
