We have a winner!
This is new, so we want your feedback on it!
How does the Aurum lottery work?
This post will be open until it has generated 1800 community coins. Those are added to Aurum's balance when you give an award that gifts coins to the community, like a Timeless Beauty.
A random winner will be selected, and they will receive a golden donut (equivalent to a Platinum)
Each award* you give to this post will be one entry. When you give the award, you must do the following:
- Make sure that you are NOT giving the award* anonymously. By doing this we will still earn community coins, but your name will not be in the list we are randomly drawing from.
- Make a top level (parent) comment in this post saying you have given an award*. I will reply to your comment if I can verify that you gave an award*, and I will remove it if I can not verify. If you choose to enter multiple times, make a different top level comment for each award* you give.
After 1800 coins have been generated, any further awards* will be disregarded.
Since most community awards also give coins to the awardee (in this case, me) I will spend those coins on the winner (1800 coins=Platinum OR 6 coin gifts).
This brings the total prize to your choice of the following:
- 2 months of Reddit Premium (1400 coins)
- 1 month of Reddit Premium and 6 coin gifts (2200 coins)

1 award | 250 coins | 5.56% | 2 months of premium and 1150 coins | 1 month of premium and 1950 coins |
2 awards | 500 coins | 11.11% | 2 months of premium and 900 coins | 1 month of premium and 1700 coins |
3 awards | 750 coins | 16.67% | 2 months of premium and 650 coins | 1 month of premium and 1450 coins |
4 awards | 1000 coins | 22.22% | 2 months of premium and 400 coins | 1 month of premium and 1200 coins |
5 awards | 1250 coins | 27.78% | 2 months of premium and 150 coins | 1 month of premium and 950 coins |
6 awards | 1500 coins | 33.33% | 2 months of premium and a loss of 100 coins | 1 month of premium and 700 coins |
7 awards | 1750 coins | 38.89% | 2 months of premium and a loss of 350 coins | 1 month of premium and 450 coins |
8 awards | 2000 coins | 44.44% | 2 months of premium and a loss of 600 coins | 1 month of premium and 200 coins |
9 awards | 2250 coins | 50% | 2 months of premium and a loss of 850 coins | 1 month of premium and a loss of 50 coins |
10 awards | 2500 coins | 55.56% | 2 months of premium and a loss of 1100 coins (still less than 2 platinums, which is essentially what you are getting!) | 1 month of premium and a loss of 300 coins |
Note that even when there is a loss of coins in your net winnings, it still costs less than purchasing the award necessary to give you those benefits.
