Hello, everyone!
I, for the first time, have been able to enjoy the taste of fresh dooryard kumquats.
I planted two young Nagami kumquats in my yard. They are absolutely heavy with fruit, and I couldn't be more pleased. I'll be munching deep into February if all goes well.
I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with multigrafting different types of kumquats, and if they had any tips/tricks to help a newbie avoid some pitfalls.
I'm in zone 9a, and my hope is to graft Meiwa, Fukushu, Marumi, and Calamansi scions onto both Nagami trees while they're still small. Both trees are about 3' at the moment.
I've grafted other non-citrus trees before, and have had some success, but I'm worried that I'll harm my babies if I get too excited.
Thanks for taking the time to read this! May your trees be everbearing.
