Help with Electricity

Ever since the beginning I have had issues with hooking up electricity. Now I am having Bottleneck issues.
Is there a source available that goes into all of this?
All my power sources do not utilize all the power they make. The Transformer Stations only allow so much power to go through them. Am I able to hook up more than one transformer station at a time using the same node?
Any other tricks and tips?
