Perpendicular track extension. I think one of the add ons for particularly subways should be additional tracks oriented 90 degrees to the current station 10m below the current track. I like having my subways run in one direction and right now I have to make some weird tracks for criss-crossing lines that I want to inter connect.
Traffic cam. Tired of all the cars driving in the bus lane cause they calculate it the fastest route? Add traffic cams! This way it (hopefully) affects an AI agents decision process and you get more income when they decide to violate
similarly, congestion pricing. I set up all these public transit options for people to still drive into the city. I wanna do what Paris and Manhattan does and charge people for driving into dense areas.
Toll booths, but I assume those are coming back anyway cause they were in CS:I
High capacity elementary school? I know elementary schools are supposed to be small and intimate, but it feels weird being the only building I have to plop like 20 of.
All transit modes can be expanded into all other modes. Or, atleast subways. Most have extensions that add bus stops to the parking lot which is great. But giving the performance issues, any opportunity to have the transfers happen offscreen or without having to pour into the street to transfer I feel may help with performance.
Underground Train station. Most urban centers (or atleast my hometown) technically has their trains underground in the city center. It would be nice to have this option to connect commuter rail to dense, space scarce city centers
PLOPABBLE PEDESTRIAN BRIDGES. I’ve been having such a hard time with a traffic AI in some places that just letting someone cross the street causes a huge traffic snake. It would be nice to have a pedestrian over or underpass bridge you can just plop instead of having to draw a path each time
What are some of your simple ideas you feel could add a lot to the game?
EDIT: thought of another
- Mixed Use Medium Density Row Homes. East coast cities like Philly and DC are full of them. If you’re a fan of Bobs Burgers you’ll recognize this type of housing. Maybe you could have a low density version too for like home offices
