No road connection on zoned in buidlings

I made a funny observation. In my city (pre and post todays patch) there are some lots that are zoned where the game decided that there is no valid connection. Demolishing the buildings and letting them regrow doesn't change a thing.
I'd expect the game to pick models that actually have fitting criteria for their placement. After all, I provide is the zoning type.
Has someone else encountered this bug yet and if so, how did you get around it?
