Help/Tips for staying motivated to finish city

Hey guys, I love cities skylines, but I am having trouble staying motivated and I wanted to know did this happen to anyone else? I play on console with all the DLCs but when I go on YouTube and Reddit I see other peoples builds to inspire my own, but it doesn’t seem to work. I have about 25k citizens right now and want to get started on my first downtown but nothing looks aesthetically pleasing; relative to other builds. I have taken a break from the game, but I want to finish my city and unlock all milestones. Any suggestions?
