Hey friends,
I've created an 8-part video series covering the Access Control Lists. The goal of the series is to take someone with no prior knowledge of ACLs to being comfortable configuring and applying both Named and Numbered ACLs.
- Part 1 - What are Access Lists?
- Part 2 - Numbered ACL Syntax
- Part 3 - Numbered ACL Configuration Demonstration
- Part 4 - Named ACL Syntax
- Part 5 - Named ACL Configuration Demonstration
- Part 6 - IPv6 ACLs - Syntax and Demonstration
- Part 7 - Applying ACLs to Interfaces
- Part 8 - Where should you apply ACLs (closer to source or destination?)
Each video builds upon the prior. We start by defining ACLs, what they filter on and how to apply them. Then we spend a few videos discussing and configuring Named and Numbered ACLs. We talk through the differences between these two types of ACLs and specifically highlight the advantages Named ACLs have over Numbered ACLs.
The series was written from the perspective of "What do I wish someone had told me when I was first learning ACLs". I honestly wish someone had taught me ACLs in this way when I first got my CCNA many years ago. =)
Either way, all the videos are free. Hope you enjoy them.
Links to all the videos along a brief snippet are available on my correlating blog post announcing the release.
Would love to hear feedback. Both positive or negative. Please let me know what you think =).
