No one told me the amount of itching that would happen with cirrhosis (I was diagnosed a year ago). I just recently was diagnosed with portal hypertension with collateral veins as well. My lower belly is always red and itchy now. It feels so tight that my skin might break open. I was prescribed Atarax for it but I cannot take it during the day because it makes me super sleepy. Does anyone have any good daytime remedies? I’m waiting to get my next doctors appointment with my hepatologist (because I’ve waited a year to see her out of fear) and I know she’s going to be so livid with me. I’m only 28, and I dread the butt chewing that’s going to happen.. but I deserve it. Truly. Anyways, any advice for the itching would be helpful. Thanks!!
