Flowerhorn w/ stubborn case of Hex....long term feeding of medicated food??

Post Body

I have a full grown male flowerhorn who has been sick on and off with hex since March. The typical pattern was he'd stop eating, I'd have to dose the tank with Metro, he'd eat for a little bit and then quit again. Then I'd go back to dosing to get him to eat, one of these times I moved onto medicated foods (Kens). The first time I fed medicated I followed the instructions and stopped after a few days. I've now been able to have him continuing eating for about two weeks or more. The holes in his head appear to be finally healing and his appetite is strong.

Question is... I really don't want to stop feeding the medicated food since he is showing improvement, I'm afraid he'll just get sick again. Anyone have experience on how long I can feed the meds to him for? Also, any idea how long hex can take to fully be gone and cured?

Thanks for all the help
