Struggling to cope with new diagnosis
Post Body

I was diagnosed with spondylosis/osteoarthritis in my spine about 2 months ago and it’s been a tough change for me. I originally saw a specialist because I had awful back pain to the point where I couldn’t stand or walk at all without being nearly in tears. Now after taking pain meds and going to physical therapy it’s gotten better, basically to the point where I can walk for like 10min, but it still is depressing to me that that’s my limit at age 24. I can’t really do any exercise and I’m super behind on house chores because they cause horrid back pain and my pain meds make me so sleepy. Since I can stand and walk for 10min now my doc won’t even sign off on me getting a wheelchair or scooter or anything so I can do normal things like go out to the mall, be outside, etc. I’m about to be cut off of PT and they say to just do the exercises at home and it’s just hard to imagine that this is what life is now. Barely being able to do anything.
