I was referred out to two separate pain clinics because I could no longer deal with my pain by using creams and OTCs. The first place I went to was terrible! Two men walked in, never sat down, and asked me three questions. I explained my situation and their solution was to do upwards of 12 injections, you know the expensive crap. I asked them what I was supposed to do in the meantime and they said “We don’t do opiates here.” I left feeling less than heard and wasted 3 hours out of my day for sheer nonsense.
Today, everything changed! I went to my appointment fully expecting to be turned away. I filled out 45 minutes worth of paperwork and went to the back. I signed my life away on their pain contract, fine. I wasn’t expecting much because the MA kept walking in and out of the room asking me questions, making me more nervous. Soon enough, the PA walked in with a friendly smile.
This guy actually sat down and talked to me. He spent enough time going through the screws in my spine to the pins in my ankle. He also talked about other aspects of my health and how he disagreed with me doing any injections while I’m losing weight. Not only did he get me into PT but he asked me what I would like to take for pain!! 🤷🏽♀️ Color me shocked. I told him what had worked before and we made some adjustments and that was that.
I feel like I’m living in some alternate dimension right now. Completely out of body. I am going to hang out in the living room and eat with my family tonight. Bonus, I’m going to get some fucking sleep!
I’m in Southern California, if you need help just DM me.
