I just need to vent. With the new years comes the need for new scripts for dme. I called my doctor and went through the IVR and got to a nurse in another office 6 days before my appointment stating that I needed a new script for this year for trach stuff. Something got messed up there and the message never got to my provider. Come to yesterday (a day before my appointment) and I call again as supply hadn't received a new dme script. I talk to another nurse who sends a message to the MA in the office I go to stating I need the script and I have an appointment tomorrow (which could have been avoided if the first message was sent, but oh well). I got a call back within a half an hour from the MA at my local doctor's office and they got the script set up. It didn't get to my supply until right before they closed so when I called this morning to confirm that it was received they tell me that my doctor isn't PECOS certified and they can't take the script or dispense my equipment. They state they are working with my doctors office to find a doctor who is PECOS certified.
Come to now at 7pm where I missed my appointment due to a bullshit new requirement. Supply says it is because of their new system this is required. Google states PECOS is only required for Medicare/ Medicaid patients of which I am neither. It seems they are screwing me over. I've never had issues like this before with them (I've been going there for 6 years and this is only the 2nd issue) but I'm still pissed. I took off a whole day of work thinking I was going to get my trach changed sometime today but no. Of course I can't have anything nice.
TL,DR - My supply is requiring a bullshit certification called PECOS from my doctor before they will dispense my trach and trach supplies. My doc doesn't have that.
