There is currently a lot of ongoing discussion on whether this sub is useful or not. To determine this, however, we need to determine what the purpose of the sub is. The stated purpose on the sidebar is simply
This is a place where you can discuss /r/Christianity with the moderators of that community and with other subscribers.
However, it seems like both the mods and the users implicitly view the sub as having a more specific purpose than that. In order to know if this sub is useful, we need to know what people's expectations of it are. To that end, I'm putting forth the following questions to guide discussion:
- What do you see as the purpose of this sub?
- What purpose would you like this sub to serve?
- What are your criteria in determining whether it is useful?
- What would a "useful" /r/ChristianityMeta look like to you?
I'm interested in both mod and user responses, and in how they might be similar or different.
