Disclaimer- What I am not saying is it’s unimportant or people shouldn’t think on it.
Following Christ has given me the life I have always wanted. In a worldly sense, I am busier, more accountable, and less wealthy. I have a small home. I no longer have sex with a bunch of different people. But I’m happier than ever. I can’t imagine life being better.
With Jesus, we have the life on earth we’ve always craved for, as well as being promised an life after. We are able to have our cake and eat it, too, so to speak.
This post is, I guess, mostly a response to comments (irl and online) that I apparently only do what i do because I believe there’s a life thereafter. I honestly never think about it until people bring it up. Why would I?
I’m living life to the fullest by living sacrificially. Hot take - if there is no afterlife, I’d still be eternally grateful for the life I led. People figure living life to the fullest is by living for yourselves. I’m only one example of millions, but damn, this seems backwards.
I’m not doubting the promise of an afterlife. I guess I’m just busy and happy doing my best to love others the way God loves us to spend much time focused on it.
