Pretty sure I'm doing it all wrong.

I was never baptized until I was in college. Most of my life we were believer's but nothing firm. Dad was a lapse catholic and mom was well I still don't know what she is. I believe in the Word of God and His acts as well as those of His son as part of the Trinity.

My problem lies in science vs the Word as translated. In Genesis it says God created the everything in 6 days and rested the seventh. With what is shown scientifically, could it be a mistranslation could God have created the earth and let evolution occur?
