Tithing question. Sorry if it’s been asked before
Post Body

Do you give 10 percent of your net income or your gross income?

-Like say you bring home 2000 per week gross, but only 1300 net: which do you base it off of

-Or.... let’s say you won the lottery. Do you give 10% of the total amount, or 10% of the amount you would actually get after taxes are taken out?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but as far as I know it doesn’t specifically say anywhere one way or the other. So I’m asking more about what you feel is correct or what you do.

I’m asking about tithes specifically, not offerings. And yes I know many people aren’t comfortable with the lottery. Please just answer the question

-Edit: the lottery scenario was what sparked the question in my mind, but I’m curious in either case
